ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Organizers are finalizing preparations for the 12th annual Brains Together for a Cure 5K Walk/5K and 10K run.
The event is happening at RCTC Saturday, October 6th.
Thursday, Co-Founder Shelly Kuhlmann stopped by KTTC to talk about the event’s mission, which is to fund brain cancer research.
The event also aims to help brain tumor survivors and their families.
Kuhlmann said this may be the year that the event pushes past the $1 million mark in dollars given to researchers at Mayo Clinic.
Kuhlmann has lost three loved ones to brain tumors.
She is hoping for another fantastic turnout to make this year’s event a success.
“I’m excited, because it’s bringing people together. You know, it’s a day to put a smile on everybody’s face,” she said.
