We saw another cool and cloudy day across the region, and the clouds will not be going away any time soon. Tonight will bring our first of many round of rain this coming week as scattered showers and a few rumbles of thunder are possible overnight with lows in the mid 40s.
You will definitely want the rain boots and umbrellas on Monday as showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day with bands of heavy rain possible at time. Afternoon highs will be in the lower 50s. Current model trends are showing the potential for 1-3″ of rain to accumulate by early Tuesday morning. Folks along area rivers should be monitoring the river levels closely this week for potential flooding.
Tuesday will see a brief break from the rain, but skies will continue to be mainly cloudy with highs near 60 degrees. Rain and thunderstorm chances return Wednesday with temperatures warming into the low to mid 70s. Temperatures quickly fall back into the upper 50s on Thursday following a cold front that moves through. Thursday looks to stay mainly dry and cloudy, but could see an isolated chance of showers late in the day.
Additional rain chances are possible heading into the coming weekend with scattered showers possible on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with afternoon highs in the upper 50s.
