For the Pauley family, it was love at first sight, or at least for their love of alpacas.
It started more than 15 years ago when Jennifer Pauley laid eyes on an alpaca on vacation.
Her dream was to move out to a place with some land and start raising alpacas and that dream has now been a reality, the family now owns 13 of them.
What started as a fun hobby has turned into the “Pauley Alpaca Company,” which gives tours and up close visits to their beloved animals.
“It’s kind of a nice way to slow down, you know, from cell phones and computers and just kind of the rat race of life. It’s nice to kind of come and hangout with the animals and they’re like therapy. So, I like that, I also really like having people out here and sharing alpaca’s with them, because they really are amazing animals,” said Jennifer Pauley, Owner of the Pauley Alpaca Company.
In addition to running the alpaca farm, their son does blacksmith work, and they also run their own gift shop full of alpaca themed items.
