ROCHESTER, Minn (KTTC) – Patients at the Mayo Clinic Children’s Center were in for quite a treat Monday morning.
For the third consecutive year, Hy- Vee delivered more than 700 balloons to kids of all ages.
The morning began with a special surprise visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus as they asked all the kids what they wanted for Christmas.
Soon after, hundreds of foil-balloon donations from Hy-Vee customers flooded the Children’s Center.
The children said the balloons really help them get into the Christmas Spirit and remind them to live each holiday celebration to the fullest.
“Well enjoy the holidays because you never know when someone may have an accident and they won’t be able to spend enough time on the holidays with you. Make the most of it while you can.” Said 12 year old Nathaniel Davis. “It just makes me happy knowing that the lower kids are happy about seeing Santa and all.”
Additional balloon deliveries continued throughout the day both at the Ronald McDonald House and Hope Lodge.
You can still purchase balloons to donate, just visit any Rochester Hy-Vee store through December 16th.
