ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Families kicked off the New Year celebration early this morning at the Minnesota Children’s Museum Rochester.
Hundreds gathered for the museum’s sixth annual Noon Year’s Eve Family Party.
Kids enjoyed trying on masks and hats, singing and dancing with a live DJ and playing games.
It is an opportunity for families to ring in the New Year together and enjoy tradition activities that mark a New Year without having to stay up late.
“It’s family oriented and it gets the parents involved with the children on New Year’s Eve and it gets them to do something,” said Museum Development Manager Lindsey Hemker. “A lot of parents like to go out at night but during the day, they want to spend time with their families.”
The museum is having a second New Year’s Eve party later today from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. with a ball drop at 4 p.m.
“If you want to have fun, eat a bunch of popcorn and dance all through the day, you can come down to the children’s museum.”
