HOUSTON COUNTY, Minn. (KTTC) – Two people were removed from a car after fell on its side during an accident.
A woman was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer eastbound on Highway 16 Monday afternoon.
The woman was driving over a bridge on a curve going uphill when she lost control of the vehicle and entered a ditch around 12 p.m.
The vehicle struck a DNR sign and a tree before falling onto the passenger’s side.
Houston Fire Department, Sheriff’s Office, Police Department and EMS all responded to the scene.
The Houston Fire Department helped extricated the driver and the passenger out of the car.
The two were taken to Mayo Clinic LaCrosse by Houston EMS with suspected non-life threatening injuries.
Officials said that at the time of the crash, there was freezing rain falling with a glazing of ice visible on the roads.
Drivers are reminded to slow down, increase following distances, wear their seat belts and remain vigilant of road conditions.
