Officials identify 39-year-old man who died during incident with RPD

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – The Southern Minnesota Regional Medical Examiner has identified 39-year-old Albert Thomas Dashow of Rochester as the man who died following a “physical struggle” with police officers in southeast Rochester.

The medical examiner is investigating the cause and manner of death.

Names of the officers involved in the incident are expected to be released by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension once initial interviews are complete. Statements by those officers have not yet been submitted to BCA agents. The investigation is ongoing.

Police reported that the preliminary investigation indicated officers did not use weapons in apprehending Dashow. The police department considers tasers as weapons.
