Wabasha residents continue to face flooding issues

WABASHA, Minn. (KTTC) — Flooding continues to be an issue for Wabasha residents, with the Mississippi River there remaining above flood stage over the past few days.

At 15.2 feet, the National Weather Service is classifying the river at “moderate” flood stage.

That’s less than a foot from “major” flood stage, but several low lying areas remain under water. While ducks are enjoying the water, the residents not as much.

Slippery’s Restaurant along the river is closed for what they call “flooding season,” Wabasha residents tell us it’s been closed for the past month.
