May Snowfall Stats

We saw snow well into April this year, but historically snowfall is much more scarce once we get to May! Since snowfall records began on a regular basis for Rochester in 1930, we have seen just 9 Mays with measurable snowfall.

In fact, we have only seen 2 years in which we have seen snow after May 6th. We saw a whopping 0.2″ of snow on May 11th of 1966 and we saw 0.1″ on May 15th of 1997. While you can never say that we can’t see snow this time of the year, it just doesn’t happen that often!
