Confused about the hands-free law? Here’s your chance to ask questions

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KTTC) – Gov. Tim Walz (DFL) signed Minnesota’s hands-free cell phone bill into law last month. Once it goes into effect Aug. 1, drivers might need to change habits to avoid breaking the law.

Officials with the Minnesota Department of Safety hop online Wednesday to help confused commuters understand what’s changing.

The law prevents the use of cell phones for any use- including for making a call- unless a hands-free mode is engaged.

Experts will host a Facebook Live conversation at 2:30 p.m. on the agency’s Facebook page.
