Trying To Dry Out

The umbrella was your best friend today as rain doused the region thanks to our latest storm system. We should see a little drier end to the work week with more rain on the way for this Mother’s Day weekend. While temperatures rebound by this weekend, we’ll more than likely remain below average in the temperature department through early next week.

Rain is the name of the game for tonight into Thursday morning, but rain showers will be much lighter in nature with some breaks at times. We’ll also be able to avoid that “S” word for tonight and Thursday as the main snow threat remains across western, central and northeast Minnesota! In fact, areas like the Twin Ports of Duluth & Superior may see several inches of snow by Thursday morning! Rain showers may linger across southeast Minnesota through the midday Thursday with drier conditions by the afternoon as high temperatures remain stuck in the mid to upper 40s.

We may actually get to see some peeks of sunshine for Friday which should help nudge temperatures back to near 60 degrees by Friday afternoon! The chance for rain showers returns for Saturday afternoon as a storm system drops south out of Canada and across the western Great Lakes. The good news is that these rain showers should be relegated to the afternoon and evening hours so hopefully we can squeeze out a few dry hours to start out Saturday. I can’t rule out a spotty shower for Mother’s Day on Sunday, but we should manage some sunshine with high temperatures for both Saturday and Sunday topping the low to mid 60s.
