Nine arrested in prostitution sting

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa (KTTC) – Clear Lake Police Department arrested nine people in a prostitution sting on Wednesday, May 29.

Seven men were arrested on charges of prostitution solicitation:

61 year old Steven Manke of Bancroft, Iowa

55 year old Brian Cole of Nashua, Iowa

47 year old Chad Sovanski of Milan, Illinois

65 year old Phillip Bishop of Mason City, Iowa

48 year old Brian Bruton of Charles City, Iowa

48 year old Scott Bierbaum of Lincoln, Nebraska and Clear Lake, Iowa

42 year old Jeramie Hagen of Crystal Lake, Iowa

Hagen is also facing delivery of a controlled substance charges.

Two women were also arrested, facing prostitution charges

26 year old Mallory Weise of Mason City, Iowa

22 year old Ashley Kelly of Midland, Alabama

Clear lake police worked with investigators from surrounding law enforcement agencies to successfully plan and safely execute this “sting” operation. All nine were taken to the Cerro County Jail.

The Clear Lake Police Department was assisted by the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s office, the Division of Criminal Investigation, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Mason City Police Department and the North Central Iowa Drug Task Force.
