ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – A southeast Minnesota mental health care operation is expanding its operations to a new facility.
Fernbrook Family Center celebrated its new Rochester location Tuesday with the Chamber of Commerce.
It’s at 2519 Commerce Drive NW, just off West Circle Drive.
The center decided to move when its old location near the TJ Maxx Plaza wasn’t big enough to keep up with growing demand.
“More insurance companies are covering the service which makes it more accessible, there is other funding opportunities that the government is putting out through DHS to provide access to more people,” said Shannon Brown, Executive Clinical Director at Fernbrook. “And I think we’re just getting the awareness out there that this is a thing that people need to work on and people want to get help.”
The center is planning to add a new early childhood mental health day treatment program this fall, called Little Fern.
Fernbrook has seven offices serving nine counties in Southeast Minnesota.
