ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) — The Sisters of Saint Francis gathered at the new Hilton hotel Tuesday afternoon, to view the new meeting rooms dedicated to them.
The partnership between Mayo Clinic and the sisters dates back to the hospital’s beginnings, and the sisters say they are glad to keep the time honored connection going.
They got a tour of the new Hilton, while cutting the ribbon to the new Franciscan meeting rooms.
Ramona Miller, the Sisters of Saint Francis President, says it’s wonderful to be in the new hotel, seeing the rooms named after them, feeling a sense of pride.
“Because that relationship has been almost 150 years and so we’re carrying the history. So, it’s good to have the history embodied in a way to remind us of all that we have left here in the city as a legacy,” said Sister Ramona Miller, President of the Sisters of Saint Francis.
The Franciscan Sisters Room is a breakout room for bigger conventions going on in the hotel, but they say the sisters will also have the ability to use it as they wish.
