New apartment complex construction brings more barriers to downtown Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Work begins on another downtown project, this time for an apartment complex set to be built just blocks away from Peace Plaza.

Crews are installing barriers Friday along 75 feet of 1st Avenue and 100 feet of 4th Street Southwest, shutting down sidewalks and parking lanes in that area.

Labeled as the “324 Apartment” project, the complex is going in where a small parking lot sits right now.
The plan calls for 50 residential units with space for retail on the ground floor.

The construction barriers are expected to be in place well into next year.
