Golfers raise money for Gift of Life Transplant House

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – On July 6, Ed Pompeian passed away, a sad time for family, friends and everyone he impacted.

Pompeian was a big reason why the Gift of Life Transplant House has grown to be so successful in Rochester.

Monday morning, Pompeian’s army of friends and supporters of the Gift of Life movement got together for the 35th annual golf benefit; the same number of years the house has existed.

Funds raised help keep things affordable for those visiting the house.

“So having a place like Gift of Life Transplant House allows them to not have the stress of the financial worry,” said Gift of Life Transplant House Executive Director Mary Wilder. “Now they know they have a safe, secure place to stay; they can afford it. So having a golf tournament like this allows us to raise the monies to make sure that we’re continuing to provide that affordable, high quality accommodations for all of our guests.”

This year’s golf outing at the Rochester Golf and Country Club was in honor of Ed Pompeian.

Naomi Grey from our sister station FOX 47 was the MC of Monday night’s festivities.
