Young teen arrested in Albert Lea social media threat

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (KTTC) – A young teen is arrested after allegedly posting a threat to “shoot up her school” on social media.

Albert Lea police were alerted to the post by several concerned parties Tuesday evening.

Police say officers made contact with the 15-year-old girl and she was arrested for felony threats of violence. She was transported to the juvenile detention center until her first court appearance.

Police say they will continue to work with Albert Lea Public Schools to ensure a safe environment for students.
