BUCHANAN COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) — Former Bachelor star, Chris Soules, has agreed to a two-year suspended sentence for his role in the death of an Iowa farmer.
In documents filed Friday, Soules consented to the recommended two years probation as well as the two-year suspended prison sentence. The judge must still approve the consent agreement.
Authorities said Soules’ pickup collided with a tractor driven by Kenneth Mosher in April of 2017. Soules called 911 but left the scene before police arrived.
Mosher died from his injuries.
Court documents show that last November, Soules filed a written guilty plea to Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Serious Injury, which is an aggravated misdemeanor. It’s a lesser charge than Soules was facing when he was cited for Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Accident, a Class D Felony.
Sentencing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 27. Soules has waived his right to be present in court during Tuesday’s sentencing and will not be required to attend.
