Sunshine continues through Sunday; Rain and Thunderstorms arrive Monday

We enjoyed yet another great day across southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa with comfortable conditions and partly to mostly sunny skies. Tonight, we’ll see partly cloudy skies with overnight lows dipping back into the low to mid 50s. Winds will be light out of the southeast at 5-10 mph.

High pressure still holds control into Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid 70s. An approaching cold front brings the chance for showers and thunderstorms to our area for much of Monday. Afternoon highs will be in the lower 70s with mostly cloudy skies. The risk for severe weather looks low, but heavy rainfall looks to be a concern for the afternoon and early evening.

Dry and sunny skies return Tuesday with high temperatures mainly in the lower 70s. Temperatures remain seasonably cool in the lower 70s for the midweek with mostly sunny skies. The cool and sunny pattern continues into the late week and start off next weekend with afternoon highs only looking to manage to the lower 70s.
