The summer warmth you felt Monday will continue most of the week. Fall is approaching quickly, but summer just doesn’t want to give up just yet! Highs Tuesday will reach the middle and lower 80s with mostly sunny skies. Strong southerly winds will bring dew points into the upper 60s making conditions feel a little uncomfortable outside. Winds could gust upwards of 25-30 mph during the afternoon.
A cold front will sweep across the forecast area late Tuesday into Wednesday bringing a chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms. Even though a cold front will impact the area on Wednesday, highs should still be able to reach the upper 70s and lower 80s because of gusty southwesterly winds.
We could potentially break the all-time precipitation record at the Rochester International Airport if we are able to get over a half-inch of rain with this system. We currently sit at 43.29 inches and only need to get to 43.94 inches to set the all-time record. This could happen this week!
Highs will continue in the lower 80s through Friday. Giving us a nice five to six-day stretch of 80° weather. Cooler weather is in the forecast for Sunday and most of next week. Highs will be in the lower 70s to upper 60s Sunday through Friday.
