Maddy Wierus is honored to be in Rochester — having the opportunity to bring each viewer authentic, reliable journalism with the KTTC-FOX 47 team.
Maddy joins us from the Land of Lincoln, where she was born into a broadcast family. She graduated from Illinois State University in May of 2018 — and that’s where she started her television career. She was a part-time reporter at our sister station, 25 News in Peoria. Some of her most notable work includes the recovery of missing boy Robert Bee and the gubernatorial election between Bruce Rauner and J.B. Pritzker. After graduating, Maddy moved to WNDU-TV in South Bend, Indiana to launch a brand new show, field produce Notre Dame football games and cover the presidential candidacy of the city’s mayor, Pete Buttigieg.
Her sports background includes covering the Chicago Blackhawks and Bears games for FOX 32 in the city and working at ESPN3 throughout college.
In her free time, you can catch Maddy wandering the aisles at Costco or exploring Downtown Rochester. Some of her greatest joys in life are from meeting new people, so if you see her — definitely say hi!
