Yes…snow could be on the way

Temperatures will stay nice for Wednesday and Thursday. Highs will be in the upper 60s and possibly the lower 70s on Wednesday with mostly sunny skies. Winds will be breezy out of the south around 10-20 mph with gusts reaching near 25-30 mph at times.

Showers come into the forecast late Wednesday night and into Thursday morning. Highs Thursday will be steady in the middle 60s with overcast conditions. Then cold temperatures dominate the forecast Friday through most of next week.

Temperatures will fall throughout the daytime hours Friday and we could have a chance of a rain/snow mix Friday into Saturday. If we are able to get a dusting of snowfall this would tie for the 5th earliest snowfall on October 11th, or on Saturday being the 6th earliest snowfall for Rochester.

On average, Rochester has its first measurable snowfall by early November. Last year, we actually received just over 1.5″ of snowfall around the same time! I don’t see that happening this upcoming weekend.

I know I didn’t bring the best of news with the potential snowflakes coming this weekend. Looking ahead to next week, highs stay in the upper 40s next week with some sunshine by Monday.
