RPD investigates shooting in SE Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) — Rochester Police is investigating a shooting in a quiet southeast Rochester neighborhood Tuesday.

A neighbor called in the shooting around 4 p.m. to the 1200 block of Turnberry Drive SE.

“Two-vehicles had pulled into the area, one had cut the other one off,” said Sgt. Jeff Sobczak.
“A gentlemen from the second vehicle got out and shot six to seven times at the two occupants of the other white vehicle. That vehicle then backed up and parked in the driveway. The suspect vehicle did a u-turn and took off, nobody knows where it went from there.”

Two of the shots hit the white SUV, and three others hit the house where one of the victims lives, according to police.  One round entered a bedroom.

We’re told the suspect and people being shot at know one another. Police do not believe this is a random act. The suspect is being described as a light-skinned African American man who fled in a tan sedan.

Nobody was injured and nobody has been arrested.

This shooting comes six days after another shooting in southeast Rochester that happened in the parking lot of Kentucky Fried Chicken where a teenager was shot and taken to the hospital.

This is a developing story, stay with KTTC News for the latest.
