ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) — Rochester Police have released more information about a shooting that took place on Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to the 1200 Block of Turnberry Drive SE around 4 p.m.

According to the Rochester Police Department, a 21-year-old Rochester woman was driving a vehicle on Turnberry Drive SE. A 21-year-old Rochester man was the passenger.

Sgt. Jeff Sobczak told a KTTC reporter at the scene that the two were in a white SUV.

While the two were inside the SUV, someone in a tan sedan started shooting at them.

The Rochester man got out of the SUV and ran away, while the woman remained inside. The male suspect then exited the sedan and continued to shoot in the direction of the SUV.

According to Sgt. Sobczak, two of the shots hit the white SUV, and three others hit a house. Police said no one was injured. One round entered a bedroom. According to police, there were several people in the neighborhood that witnessed the gunfire.

After firing the shots, the suspect returned to the sedan and left the scene. Olmsted County Sheriff’s deputies later found the suspect’s vehicle, and police seized it.

At the scene, police described the suspect as a light-skinned African-American man who fled in the tan sedan.

Police said the shooting “doesn’t appear to be random.” No one is in custody, and this remains an active investigation.
