The man who escaped authorities after a chase through Byron has been arrested.

According to Wabasha County Jail records, 31-year-old Michael Price of Byron is currently in custody. The roster said Lake City Police assisted in his arrest and that he is being held pending charges or investigation.

Jail records indicate that there were two warrants out for Price’s arrest. The first was filed by Winona County on Oct. 23, and the other was filed by Fillmore County on Oct. 24.

Price was facing burglary and fleeing charges, according to authorities.

There was an apprehension order out for Price, who authorities said failed to maintain contact with his probation officer. He has at least three previous convictions, including controlled substance crimes and fleeing police in a motor vehicle.

On Oct. 20, authorities spotted Price driving a 2009 Chevy Malibu in the intersection of 7th Street and 2nd Avenue NW. Authorities said he took off, driving through the city of Byron at high speeds. He was eventually stopped in the 700 Block of 3rd Avenue. Deputies said he exited the car, fled on foot and was able to escape.

KTTC has contacted Lake City Police and expects to learn more about how he was arrested.
