SPRING VALLEY, Minn. (KTTC) – Spring Valley Living offers housing, therapy programs and in-home services to those in Fillmore County.
However, five years ago, they decided that they were not providing for all their clients needs.
Today, Spring Valley Living celebrated the groundbreaking of their new expansion project. It will add 24 units for dementia care, an adult day center and an extension of their current private long-term care wing of the nursing home.
After having to refer clients to other communities for care, keeping services close to home was a major goal of the project.
“The consumers will not have to drive far to obtain resources that they need. They will have those resources closer to home which will reduce stress and also enhance their quality of life,” said Spring Valley Living vice-president Vera Ndumbe.
The expansion is made possible by the help of a grant from the Department of Health and Human Services.
The construction of the project is expected to be completed by October of next year.
