UPDATE: Police arrest suspect in Northwest Rochester shooting

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) —

UPDATE 9:25 a.m.: Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a Northwest Rochester shooting early Thursday morning.

The Rochester Police Department said 18-year-old Jaeden Adcox of Rochester shot a 20-year-old and a 25-year-old multiple times in their lower bodies. The victims, who are both from Rochester, were taken to the hospital and are expected to be okay.

A caller contacted police around 4:15 a.m. and said they heard four gunshots at 3955 18th Avenue Northwest, in the parking lot of Westminster townhomes.

An hour later, police found Adcox hiding underneath a deck on the 1200 Block of 30th Street NW. He was taken into custody.

The shooting was due to a possible robbery, according to police. They have not indicated whether the suspect and the victims knew each other.

Police have since located the gun used in the shooting with the assistance of a K9. Authorities also said they notified John Adams Middle School, which is near where the shooting took place.

UPDATE: Police are confirming at least two people were shot early this morning. According to police, both men were shot in the leg, and they are expected to survive.

Police responded to shots fired in the Westminster townhomes parking lot.

An officer at the scene said they are questioning the victims.

It is unknown if a suspect has been apprehended at this time.

ORIGINAL STORY: A KTTC crew is on the scene of a large police search in northwest Rochester.

Officers were called to the 3900 block of 18th Avenue NW around 4:20 a.m. on Thursday. Police are not saying what happened, but an ambulance was seen leaving the area. Armed officers, a K9 unit and several squad cars are on the scene.
