AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC) - This morning started off with a free concert, Merry Tuba Christmas, at the Paramount Theater.
In the afternoon, visitors to Westminster Presbyterian enjoyed the elaborate nativity displays that decorated four rooms of the church.
Those shopping for gifts could enjoy decorations and handmade crafts for sale at both the Hormel Historic Home and St. Mark's Assisted Living Facility. The residents of St. Mark's enjoyed the all-day event.
"I think it just changes things up from routine. Seeing all this action happening at St. Mark's, in their home, is enjoyable for them," said St. Mark's marketing director Jamie Mathison, "Something they can easily access is this sale where they can buy things for family members or grandchildren. It's a great opportunity for them too."
The proceeds from lunch at the St. Mark's event goes to Paint the Town Pink.
Another cause happening this season in Austin is the Gift of Warmth. Hats, gloves, scarves and more are collected and hung at Skinners Hill for anyone in need.
