Rochester police release names of those involved in deadly crash


ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Police have identified the people involved in a Rochester crash that killed one on Thursday evening.

The crash happened along 65th Street NW at the intersection with Bandel Road, according to the Rochester Police Department.

Police said that just after 5 p.m., a red Chrysler sedan going west on 65th Street NW was attempting to turn left onto Bandel Road NW. It was hit by a silver Dodge pickup going east on 65th.

The passenger in the Chrysler, Audre Quandt, 82, of Rochester, died from the crash. The driver of the Chrysler, Luvern Quandt, 87, of Rochester, was taken to Saint Marys. Police said they believe Luvern Quandt was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Mayo Clinic said he is currently in fair condition.

Police said the driver of the Dodge pickup, Kenneth Aaker, 63, of Rochester, was not injured.

Police said the crash is still under investigation.
