AUSTIN, Minn. (KTTC) - For many, Christmas can be a lonely time.
However, the 7th annual Christmas dinner at VFW Post 1216 aims to bring the community together for a tasty meal. Anyone was welcome and Santa was present with gifts for each child.
So what is the most rewarding part for those who make it possible?
"The children," said Santa Claus. "How they light up, how they smile, how they laugh. They just love to get in close for a picture and it just makes their day."
"I really like the desserts," said volunteer Nelson Lebarron. "The man who makes them is very good but I like to come here and see the people smile, see everyone just get together."
The meal featured ham, vegetables and an assortment of delicious desserts. The dinner is made possible thanks to the help of donations.
