ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Rochester police have released the identity of a man found dead on the side of the road in Rochester on Monday.
According to the Rochester Police Department, Andre Degeneffe, 39, of Minneapolis, was found along the fence line in between the east side of Frontage road and the west side of Broadway Avenue, near Days Inn. Police said the body was discovered by a passer-by.
According to the Police Department, he was found fully clothed with no weapons on him, and that there were no signs of trauma.
On Monday, police said they are investigating the incident as a "suspicious death." Police are currently saying they believe cause of death was not murder or suicide, but that it was either accidental or medical.
Police said Degeneffe had been staying by himself at Days Inn and on Sunday at about 6:30 p.m., hotel staff called police because of a noise complaint in his hotel room. Police said when they checked, he was not there.
Authorities said Degeneffe was last seen leaving the hotel. At about 11:15 a.m. on Monday, Degeneffe's dad reportedly called RPD to report his son missing.
Police said the autopsy will be completed on Tuesday morning.
Authorities are still investigating.
