ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- There's a new addition to The Med City: a local bookstore with hard-to-find titles.
Rochester author and wildlife photographer Lisa Loucks Christensen opened Silver Lake Books a few weeks ago after seeing success at her bookstore in the Kahler Grand Hotel.
Christensen made sure to bring some wildlife to the store, with original photography and multiple fish tanks for guests to feed.
Silver Lake Books gives off a feeling of nostalgia from the old titles it carries — some you may even recognize from your childhood.
Lisa grew up collecting books and decided to share her passion with the community.
"That's why I wanted to do it," said Christensen. "I loved books as a kid, I still love books as an adult. That's what I like to do, and that's how I'm going to spend the rest of my life. And I hope other people will come and find something from their childhood."
Lisa also has a documentary on winter bugs that can be seen at Silver Lake Books. The store is open Monday through Saturday and you can find more details on their website.
