Man pleads not guilty to shooting man multiple times after being ruled competent to stand trial

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Abdusalam Omar Hussein, 38, of Rochester waived his right to an omnibus hearing and pleaded not guilty to second degree assault.

Police believe that Hussein shot the victim four times in the legs with a fifth bullet grazing the victim's hand.

This stems from an incident reported at an apartment at 1334 4th Avenue SE around 6:30 a.m. on Nov. 3 in Rochester.

Hussein was found competent to stand trial last week.

His next trial is set for May 11.
