SE Rochester shed fire causes thousands of dollars in damage

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- A shed fire caused thousands of dollars in damage in south east Rochester Saturday night.

It happened on the 100 block of 20th Street SE, around 8:15 p.m.

When Rochester firefighters arrived on scene, crews found a detached shed was up in flames. The blaze was starting to spread to a detached garage.

Crews were able to stop the fire, but the shed was a complete loss. The back of the detached garage suffered heavy fire damage. Firefighters estimated $20,000 in damage.

No one was hurt. The cause is under investigation.

The Rochester Fire Department wrote in a press release: "early recognition of a fire, immediate evacuation, and quick notification to the fire department and other emergency services are critical to ensure personal safety and for mitigating property damage caused by fire."
