UPDATE 2:40 p.m.: The Minnesota Department of Health said in a news release that the 3:30 p.m. media briefing will be a MDH call, and Gov. Walz will not be participating in the call.
MDH Commissioner Jan Malcolm and MDH State Epidemiologist Dr. Ruth Lynfield are scheduled to be on the call.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (KTTC) -- Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is scheduled to hold a news briefing on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
The news briefing comes after President Donald Trump announced he is deeming churches and houses of worship "essential," and is calling on governors to reopen them this weekend.
There will be no 2 p.m. briefing from the Minnesota Department of Health on Friday.
