Showers and thunderstorms brought some much-needed rainfall to SE MN and NE IA on Thursday and this will change our weather pattern for the upcoming weekend. It's been eleven straight days with measurable rainfall at the Rochester Int. Airport and that streak came to end Thursday.
With showers and thunderstorms rolling through Thursday morning and afternoon, rainfall totals ranged from around 1-3" locally. We've received some isolated reports of up to 5" of rain.
Cooler and more seasonable temperatures will return for the weekend. Highs will be in the lower 80s on Saturday and Sunday with more of a northwesterly flow keeping humidity down. Dew points are not expected in the upper 60s this weekend and should stay steady near 60°. Temperatures will be a little warmer next week with highs warming into the middle 80s most of the week.
