Fire destroys home in Dakota

Firefighters battling house fire in Dakota, Minn.

UPDATE 5 p.m.: Nobody was injured in the house fire which is apparently now under control. Crews remain on the scene at this hour.

The homeowner noticed smoke coming from the home and left his tool shed to call 911. The flames spread quickly after that.

DAKOTA, Minn. (WXOW) -- Fire destroyed a home in Dakota Tuesday afternoon.

The blaze ignited about 3 p.m. in a house along the 700 block of River Street.

Firefighters from Dakota, Nodine and La Crescent responded to help work the scene.

There's no word yet on any injuries.
