UPDATE: Pedestrian killed in Highway 52 crash

UPDATE: The Minnesota State Patrol has ruled the case a suicide, and will not release the name of the deceased.


PREVIOUS UPDATE: An unidentified man is dead after getting hit by a semi truck late Friday night.

According to state patrol, it was around 9 p.m. Friday when a pedestrian ran in front of a freight-liner that was southbound on Highway 52, near 75th Street NW.

The man's name or age has not been released.

Olmsted County Sheriff Department, Rochester Police Department, Rochester Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance responded.


NEAR ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- Law enforcement shut down all lanes of Highway 52 in the southbound direction at 75th Street NW Friday night.

It's not yet clear what happened, but a semi-truck was stopped on the right shoulder just before the southbound on-ramp.

The closure began about 9 p.m.

Southbound traffic is being routed off Highway 52 at the 75th Street exit, then allowed back from the 75th Street on-ramp.
