ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) -- The Zumbro Ridge Estates community is asking for the publics help to make a dream come true.
The project has been two years in the making and the long wait is almost over.
The children that live there haven't had a real playground.
So, in 2016 Zumbro Ridge Estates Volunteer Operational Manager Allie Lechner showed the children photos of a potential playground.
The playground they chose costs more than $60,000.
This year with the help of donors they raised almost all of the money.
While the playground is up with only finishing touches to go, the remaining balance of $9,500, needs to be paid by the beginning of September.
"We ordered the playground it's here and the first part of September we need to pay it off. So we are hoping that will help us to make this goal," Lechner said.
Lechner said the children so deserve this playground.
"When the guys aren't working out there you see the kids walking they will walk backwards. They will walk sideways and they are staying their distance. They are listening, they want this playground so very much," Lechner said.
If you would like to donate, you can go to First Alliance and donate to Zumbro Ridge Estates, or mail a check to Zumbro Ridge Estates Lot 4.
An anonymous donor will match all donations three to one, until the goal is reached.
