State Patrol identifies Rochester man who died in crash near Kasson

NEAR KASSON, Minn. (KTTC) -- The Minnesota State Patrol identified a driver who died in a crash near Kasson on Wednesday.

The State Patrol reported on Thursday that Anthony Mitchell, 39, of Rochester, was the driver of the Chevrolet Cavalier who died in a crash with a pickup truck.

The State Patrol reported on Wednesday that Mitchell's vehicle was northbound on Highway 57 and he intentionally drove head-on into a pickup that was veering off into the shoulder to avoid the crash.

The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office said Mitchell had been a suspect in a criminal sexual conduct investigation.

The driver of the pickup was taken to Mayo Clinic Saint Marys with non-life threatening injuries.
