MINNEAPOLIS (KTTC) -- A suspect is in the hospital after exchanging gunfire with Minneapolis police on Thursday morning.
According to KARE, an NBC affiliate in the Twin Cities, Police Spokesman John Elder said someone called 911 around 8:20 this morning saying a suspect was pointing a gun at them.
Within a few minutes, officers were pursuing the suspect's vehicle before it crashed. The suspect and police began exchanging gunfire.
However, Elder says the situation de-escalated, and officers were able to use non-lethal force to take the suspect into custody, KARE reported.
Police said the suspect's injury, which is believed to be a gunshot wound, is non-life-threatening.
