Snowfall totals ranged from 4-8" across SE Minnesota and NE Iowa Thursday night and Friday morning. Snowfall accumulations were on the lower end of our forecast range because dry air moved into the area around 1-3 a.m Friday morning which limited totals in some areas overnight. The heaviest snowfall did take place west of hwy-52 through Ellendale, Owatonna, and Albert Lea.
Snow totals ranged from 6-8" through Ellendale, Owatonna, and Albert Lea. We also received a report of 6.5" in Mantorville. Most of the Olmsted County experienced around 4-6" of snow.
Our snowfall deficit now sits at 7.9" compared to the seasonal average. We were only 1" off the average last year at this point.
Light snow is possible early Saturday morning with quiet and cloudy conditions to follow in the afternoon. We'll have falling temperatures through the afternoon meaning our high temperature for the day will take place in the morning. Highs on Sunday will be in the middle 20s with overcast skies.
