MINNEAPOLIS (KTTC) -- An Owatonna man is in custody for allegedly shooting and killing someone outside of a Minneapolis shopping mall.
Mubarak Musse, 27, has been charged with second-degree murder for the fatal shooting.
According to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office, police found a man dead outside the Village Market building after 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
Surveillance video shows Musse getting into an argument with the victim inside the mall, according to a criminal complaint.
The two started fighting outside, and Musse allegedly shot the victim several times with a handgun. Investigators said he continued to shoot the man after he fell to the ground.
Musse turned himself in later that afternoon. In the process, officers found a 9mm semi-automatic handgun that they say was used in the shooting.
In an interview with police, Musse confirmed he was the shooter, according to the complaint.
He had his first court appearance on Thursday afternoon. Bail has been set at $1 million.
Musse remains in custody at the Hennepin County jail. His next court appearance is on April 13 at 9 a.m.
