(KTTC) -- The Mason City Police Department (MCPD) says Benjamin B. Gonzalez has been arrested. The department posted an update on its Facebook page Monday afternoon, and later sent a news release with more details.
According to the MCPD release, Gonzalez was arrested in Algona at about 4 p.m. Monday. He's currently being held at the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $1 million cash bond.
Gonzalez was wanted for the shooting death of a man now identified as 36-year-old Michael Creviston of Mason City on March 31.
A Murder in the First Degree arrest warrant was issued for Gonzalez a day later.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation had been helping with the investigation.
