Showers and storms have been scarce and limited across SE Minnesota and NE Iowa this week. Most of the storm activity stayed to the west of I-35 last night. Rainfall accumulations west of I-35 and just north of Minneapolis have been above 1" in some areas. Our chance of widespread rain comes into the forecast Wednesday night through Thursday morning.
I've bumped rainfall accumulations down the rest of the week. From Wednesday night through Friday evening, rainfall accumulations will stay around 0.25-0.75" for SE MN and NE IA. Areas west of I-35 could see around 0.75-1" of rain through Friday evening. I think rainfall will stay too isolated and scattered to get widespread accumulations near 1" for Rochester.
The Twins finally return home Thursday for their home opener at 3 p.m. Isolated showers could impact the start of the game Thursday. Light rain is expected to end just before the first pitch.
Cooler temperatures are expected into the weekend. Highs will be in the middle 50s Friday and Saturday before returning to the lower 60s on Sunday. Cool-weather will linger into next week too. Highs Monday through Wednesday will be in the lower 50s and even upper 40s.
