We've experienced some major up and down temperatures so far this April and that trend will continue through the next 7-10 days. We started off with record-breaking warmth this month with temperatures reaching into the 80s on the 5th. Since then we've had two Mondays with temperatures in the middle and lower 40s. As we look towards the final week of April, high temperatures will jump into the upper 60s and lower 70s.
High temperatures Thursday will warm into the middle and lower 60s with mostly sunny skies. Highs will be right around average most of SE MN and NE IA. Cooler conditions are likely Friday through Sunday. Highs will be in the middle and lower 50s around 8-10 degrees below average. Then the warmth returns by Monday! Highs jump into the 70s both Monday and Tuesday.
We've been pretty dry so far this April with our monthly precip around 1.40" behind the norm. We'll finally have a chance of accumulating rainfall Friday morning and early afternoon. A stray shower will be possible Sunday morning and then we'll keep an eye on Monday night and Tuesday evening for thunderstorms.
Enjoy the warmth and sunshine on Thursday!
