After a stormy overnight for some parts of the area, quieter conditions are on tap for Friday. We'll deal with one more hot summer day before cooler conditions move in for the weekend and next week. Today's highs will be in the upper 80s to low 90s with mainly sunny skies. Winds will be light out of the northwest at 5-10 mph. Although today will be another hot day, the good news is that conditions will feel less humid and more comfortable as dew points settle into the mid and upper 50s.
Tonight, a few isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible between 8pm and 11pm. Otherwise, partly cloudy skies are expected with overnight temperatures in the low 60s. Winds will be light out of the north at 5-10 mph.
Cooler weather settles into the region starting Saturday with high pressure in control. Afternoon highs will be in the low 80s with mostly sunny skies and winds out of the northwest at 5-10 mph. Another round of showers and thunderstorms is expected for the area on Father's Day this Sunday. Widespread rain is likely for the region with upwards of an inch of rain expected to fall. Highs will be in the upper 70s with breezy winds shifting from the south to the northwest at 10-20 mph.
Below normal temperatures settle into the region as we kick off the new week. Monday starts off the week on a dry and sunny note with afternoon highs in the low 70s. A repeat performance is expected for Tuesday with temperatures warming back into the upper 70s on Wednesday.
Sunshine continues into the late week with a mix of sun and clouds expected for Thursday and Friday. Both days could see a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms with afternoon temperatures returning to the low 80s.
