“If the World” has the potential to make a change

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) — A Rochester musician has tapped into the talent of young artists who are dreaming of a world filled with love, peace and harmony to produce a powerful song.

The song, “If The World” started with a simple idea, years ago, when Doug Porter’s young daughter envisioned a world with no more hate.

“This is how the world should be from the mind, heart of a child,” said Porter, who wrote the song.

With hours of studio time at RCTC, working with two-time Grammy award nominee Aaron Shannon, and other top-notch staff, the song came together, piece-by-piece.

Shannon produced the song’s music video as final class project at RCTC.

Kids from diverse backgrounds in Rochester poured their hearts and souls into the project, each contributing a colorful piece to this musical patchwork.

“We need to focus right now on the idea of a world that’s no more hate, no more war,” said Porter. “Only love for every woman, child and man.”

The song’s music video will be officially launched Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at RCTC’s Third-Level Cafe.
