ROCHESTER, Minn (KTTC) – It may be getting colder outside, but Destination Medical Center doesn’t want that to stop people from enjoying peace plaza.

DMC collaborated with Rochester Posse to bring live local artists to peace plaza, no matter the temperature. Six artists were invited to have outdoor concerts from noon to 1 p.m. throughout November at Peace Plaza.

The concerts are a prototype to see what may work best to bring people outside in the bitter cold.

The project is being spearheaded by Rochester Posse after one of the members, Rosei Skipper noticed the new community couch resembled a stage.

DMC is funding the project in hopes it will get people out even on the crisp cold days.

Skipper says that being a Minnesotan should make you immune to the cold.

“You know it’s been pretty cold, it’s kind of crazy to have outdoor concerts in Minnesota but we’re Minnesotans we can be outside. So, my whole thing with winter in Minnesota is you just need to get outdoors, get a nice coat and you’re good.” Said Skipper.

The last of the six concerts it set for Friday, November 16 from noon until 1 p.m. featuring the local artist Twin Lakes Band.
