Governor-elect Tim Walz begins “One Minnesota” listening tour

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Governor-elect Tim Walz was in Rochester’s Government Center for the second day of his state-wide listening tour, to hear from Minnesotans about issues that matter to them, like gun violence, affordable housing, services for people with disabilities, and jobs.

He will be stopping in more than 24 communities around the state.

The five-day, “One Minnesota” listening tour will take Walz to all four corners of the state to ask citizens for input on characteristic they want to see in their commissioners and administration.

“We are going to be relentless, there are communities under-represented here that we need to get to,” he said. “I appreciate the optimism from so many people talking about all the things that are forward. My goal is to ratchet down some of this animosity that gets into this. We can get some solutions working with county, city, state, federal together.”

Walz heard input and concerns from those in leadership positions and members of the audience.

Afterwards, he headed to Minneapolis and then Fergus Falls. On Saturday, he will be in Moorhead and Crookston. The listening tour ends on  Monday, December 3.
